With the increase of ransomware, crypto-mining and other attacks, hackers are attacking Android users with an enmity. Millions of dollars have been stolen, identities compromised and computing power has been given to cybercriminals in the last few years. Fortunately, antivirus software for Android can guard your devices from all sorts of threats. Look for an app that is easy to install and comes with additional features like security tools for system optimization including theft protection, parental controls.
Avast Mobile Security is a well-known brand in the field of internet security. Its Android version has a full suite of protection with a free version and affordable subscription plans that offer complete protection for your mobile device/s, PC and laptop/tablet/computer. Its malware protection is top-quality with minimal impact on performance. It also has a call blocker, VPN and junk cleaner. It also has an image vault as well as WiFi network security. anti-theft, RAM booster and web security.
Kaspersky Mobile Antivirus offers absolute security for a reasonable cost. Its malware detection functions well with a minimal drain on battery. It also includes a call blocking feature, Wear OS support, and other extras. The only drawback is that it’s not as user-friendly and doesn’t have a an assurance of money back.
AhnLab is a company from South Korea, is another excellent option. It scored near-perfectly in my hands-on labs and tests however it’s not as user-friendly an interface. It’s not as active on social media or community forums as other apps on this list. It does have high detection rates for Android malware according to AV-Test and AV-Comparatives (but it hasn’t yet been evaluated by either lab since the year 2015).
